Michael Smith Laboratories
The Biotechnology Laboratory was established at The University
of British Columbia in 1987. Its mandate was to develop
fundamental scientific knowledge through the application of
technology and to build an interface between basic and applied
sciences. Since its creation, the Biotechnology Laboratory has
developed extensive interactions with the biotechnology
corporate sector.
